INFORMACION TURISTICA DE MORELIA
MORELIA Su actual nombre substituye al de Valladolid, por el decreto del Segundo Congreso Constitucional del Estado de 1828, para honrar la memoria de don José María Morelos y Pavón, quien vió en ella la primera luz, el 30 de septiembre de 1765. Morelia es la ciudad que ilustra el estilo noble y señorial de todo el Estado. Sus edificios, monumentales ecos de la época del virreinato, se conservan en toda su grandeza y quedan grabados profundamente en la memoria de quien los conoce. El trazo de sus calles, perfectamente definido, conduce casi siempre, a la magnificencia de alguna construcción colonial. Como consecuencia de su tradición, Morelia está siempre en la vanguardia del pensamiento, a través de su prestigiada Universidad. La ciudad crece y se desenvuelve con el ritmo y las necesidades del presente a la sombra de la eterna Morelia se levantan modernas colonias, funcionales hoteles, campos de golf, centros comerciales, que la perfilan siempre en el tiempo sin perder su esencia. Morelia es la Capital del Estado de Michoacán, situada a una altura de 1951 mts. sobre el nivel del mar; su clima templado tiene un promedio anual de 23 grados Centígrados (Celsius). MORELIA The present name "Morelia" replaced "Valladolid", by decree of the Second Constitutional Congress of the State of 1828, in honnor of Don José María Morelos y Pavón who was born and saw the first light in the city on September 30th 1765. Morelia illustrates the noble and stately style of all the state. Its buildings, monumental echoes of the Viceroy period, preserve all the greatness in the memory of those who know it. The outline of the streets, perfectly defined, it almost always leads, to some magnificent colonial construction. As a result of traditions, Morelia is always in the vanguard of the thoughts, through its renowned University. The city grows and develops with the needs of the present, at the shadow of the eternal Morelia modern colonies, hotels, golf courses and malls rise, always outlining it on time without losing its essence. Morelia is the capital of Michoacan's state, located to 19°, 42', 12" north latitude and 1951 meters over the sea level; the moderated weather averages 23° C, and it has an approximated population of 900.000 inhabitants.
